Re: [RC] [RC] UAE Involvement in AERC Functions - Howard Bramhall

I strongly support having the WEC in the USA or any European country. Any place but the UAE. WE can no longer allow them, the UAE, to run the show on the International circuit. The news of the slave trade in their country is taking root.

I've been writing to CNN and other news organizations. This is key here. ONe story similar to the one on HBO carried over the networks will speak volumes. I ask each of you to write to them. If I get one response from my letters I will post it on here and the AERC site.

Ya'll have given me so much hope here. The silence over the week-end was killing me. I guess everyone, but me, was attending an endurance ride. Thank-you John, Jerry, Truman, Kim, Laura, Randy, Mr. Taylor, Frank (God bless Frank) and all the other members of the BOD who have spoken out on this issue.

Please, do not let this one slip through the cracks as sometimes happens over time. Write to others about this. Keep it going. With all the brainstorming going on, the right course of action will eventually become clear. A change will occur. The only answer that seems absolutely clear is that we can no longer continue to do business with slave traders.

Making that happen will require some sacrifices on our part. This will be the most difficult because I realize, having them (the UAE) pay for everything has made it easy for us in the past on the International scene. It will not be easy to say "NO" to them. But, we must. It's time for us to ride our horses without their money having any influence on our beloved sport.

Wouldn't it be nice to see the American flag again, in the WEC, flying proudly, with the funds for our riders coming from us and nobody else? It's the only way to go.

cya,
Howard

When I see Howard and John and some of the other folks here get behind a
bid from a USA Organizing Chairman to hold another WEC in our own country,
I'll know that they are willing to back their rhetoric with constructive
action.
