==========================================

There is an art to the "trot out" that will serve you
well if it's just a vet check or for BC.Train your horse at home and when ever
or where ever you ride to "GO"when you
ask .If you are consistent from day one it becomes 2nd
nature for you both.Never look back at the horse,carry a dressage or buggy whip
that reaches the horse"s butt with out
you having to turn or look back & give a sharp tap as you take off,with a click
and firm "TROT".You have to move out like
you really mean it too!Practice this till you no longer need any whip,just the
verbal cue.We're not talking beating the horse,or anything like it,but just
emphathis &
taking immeadiate action to a cue.For most horses(esp Arabs)this doesn't take
long to learn.Out here in the west region
no whips or sticks are allowed at BC and most likely you
won't have one at a ride vet check so this is just pre-ride
training that you do at home.
As for rainy cancelled rides..still waitng to hear about
Lake Sonoma but fearing the worst...more rain expected.BOO HOO!!
