It takes the same thing as it takes to get to Carnegie Hall - practice, practice and more practice.

They are not going to trot out right if they haven't practiced it. This works start at home. Just ask Becky Hart why Rio won so many BC's.

I think what the Vets want to see first and foremost is a stong forward moving trot out and back...instead of the mincing jog some horses do...

I would guess whatever it took (within reason) to obtain that trot would be ok...
