[RC] CA rides and rain - Michael Maul

The California park management(at least Northern CA/Bay area) is very careful about any sort of rain.

They shut down the trails pretty quickly for an amount of rain that TX would not even notice. The annual rainfall in San Jose is about 15 inches per year. San Diego is about 10 inches per year.

In Tx - I've seen 8 inches of rain in two days and not considered that a 100 year flood.

Alvin, TX holds the US record for single day and w/e rainfall of 29 inches and 43 inches respectively. This was a result of a tropical storm of course.

Mike
