RE: [RC] horse ivermectin for dogs?OT - Ranelle RubinThat is why my vet insisted I bring my dogs in to weigh them first, we used liquid that was carefully measured in a syringe..My dogs had all been tested for heartworms, in fact he tested them twice..just to cover the "larva stage"..and again this was almost 20 yrs ago before we had Heartguard. I did not give it to the puppies-he did that at 12 weeks if they were still around. I had 4-5 adult dogs at any given time.. I understand vets earn their money, but the drug processing cost and having to buy it from a vet and then having to take each dog in, etc. I need to find an alternative if I am going to be able to protect them. Just like shots, I give those too. I can't afford to feed the "pet as child industry", Heck I can't afford the "child industry" for my kids either! I just want to common sense advice/help....
