RE: [RC] [RC] horse ivermectin for dogs?OT - Jena Williams

It is so interesting how topics come on RC at the times they do. I just wormed my whole menegerie (4 dogs, 2 cats, 3 horses, 4 goats) with 3 tubes of Equimax. the hardest part is doing the research and getting the appropriate dosages for them (oh, that is what algebra and word problems were for in school!). I was thrilled to find that the tapeworm medicine in Equimax is the same as "Droncit" that the vet gives (at like $10 per pill per every 13lbs body wieght, that gets expensive!)

Good luck!

Jena

For those who have to be frugal, but still want to care for your pets (but are surrounded by high dollar pet vets, where people rountinely spend hundreds per visit) and I am paying off several human ER visits, and surgeries ...(and my daughters free lease horse is back and we have to feed and suppliment him now too...again)
How much ivermectin/either horse paste or liquid would you give per 10 lb. monthly to protect from heartworms do you give --either in cc or ml. or teaspoons and how much margin do you have?
