[RC] Founder & Wheat germ oil? - Sarah Simmons

I have a horse that is foundered and I'm lucky enough
to have Pete Ramey working on him. Pete's in Denmark
giving a clinic, and I've got a question for you
knowledgeable folks out there. My gelding has been
restricted to a grass hay & fresh grass only diet. No
grain, no pre-processed feeds, no molasses or other
sugars, no treats, no apples or other fruits, etc. I
am trying LaminaSaver by Figuerola Labs, and I can not
get my horse to eat it. I even cored out a carrot and
used a funnel to put the powder in the carrot, but he
spit the carrot out. He wouldn't eat it with a
handfull of oats or a spoonfull of applesauce. I was
thinking of mixing it with an oil, possibly wheat germ
oil? then squirting it in his mouth with a syringe.
As far as I know, Oil is pure fat. Anyone know the
carbohydrate content of Wheat Germ Oil? It's not on
the bottles in the feed stores here. Or does anyone
have any other suggestions to get this LaminaSaver
into him? Email me directly or post to the list.
Thanks in advance.
