[RC] Numbers - Ridecamp Guest

I believe the fall in the number of arabians is the bad rap from the 80's when
everyone was a breeder. Any backyard piece of junk was bred to another piece
of junk and you came up with junk. The same is happening in the paints and
Qh's now and it's probably the same people who did it to the arabs. Most
people breed for those big muscles and little tiny feet so by the time the
horse is six years old they are crippled. The same has happened to the
Peruvian Pasos also. I am speaking from the point of some one who has delt
with many different breeds and sports at some point in time. And yes I do own
an arab and love him to death. Also my father is a farrier and hates shoeing
tight shouldered, bad footed, bad tempered paint horses.

Now I'm not saying by any means that all Paints and QHs are like that I have
had good and bad of both. We see it all the time when training that right now
the times call for pretty colors and no thought to temtperment. And lets face
it we arab people should count our selves lucky that arabs only come in the
basic colors.
