[RC] was Hip replacement/aerial attacks - rides2far

they
don't like
things above them that could jump on them and kill them......

I learned that the hard way. We were *booking* down the trail and I
thought I could reach up and fiddle with Kaboot's forelock right between
his ears for some reason. He thought an Arab-Hawk had him for sure! Slam
stop, duck & crouch and skittle in a circle, all in one motion. One of
those, "Now I know not to do that any more" moments.

As for the mounting from high objects...I've done that a lot... but this
fall saw a bad side. My daughter (110 lbs) was mounting her horse from
the trailer fender and he was sort of facing it keeping his tail to the
side. She jumped the rest of the way and he acted like 300 lbs hit his
back. He was standing hollow at the time and he walked off like his back
was injured...really weird. Scared us good. We massaged around and walked
him and he got O.K. I won't do any of those long distance jumps again.
