[RC] Thoroughbreds - k s swigart

Just curious kat, as to why you don't use a pure TB for endurance
then???
I know you are a good enough hand to work with them, and understand
what it takes to get a horse fit to go down the trail....so, why don't
you
ride one?

I do. Her name is Lady Marla. 1000 miles, multiple top tens, one BC,
one overall BC at a multi-day ride, ROC and NC qualified, and a placing
in the regional point standings (in 2000)

She is, however, also the horse that put me in the hospital due to that
little mishap at the Grand Canyon :). And jumped into (then immediately
out of) an irrigation ditch on the 2001 XP.

Since Mike Maul, who has had the opportunity to share the trail with us,
is now down in your neck of the woods, ask him sometime if HE would ride
this horse at an endurance ride....and why?

And yes, she has classic distance horse written all over her pedigree;
although, her mother was a faster than snot sprinter who ran her early
fractions in 21 & change.

I haven't been riding her recently because I have been focusing on my
stallion (her half brother, out of the same mare; although he is an
Anglo) who is doing his first endurance ride in a couple of weeks at the
Duck's new ride....weather permitting :).
