It is possible to produce an effective silencer
with a plastic soda bottle and some other stuff, but it is not legal. Do
not attempt to produce a home made silencer. The BATF takes a dim view of
this. Last I heard the possession of an unregistered silencer is worth 8
yrs. in the Federal pen.
