RE: [RC] Saddle fits or not? Or just get a new pad? - LaBrake, Denise A

Thanks Kristen, I need to get my hands on something fast, the pad is what
has caused the problem.
It's too short. I checked the saddle out last night again, on her back
without the pad. Everything touches find on the
outside lengths of the tree, no pressure and no lifts when you walk her. As
soon as I put the pad on the back of it sits
right on the spots showing wet. NOT GOOD. I'm fixing it immediately!!!

Thank you all for all your help.

Denise - I use an oversize barrel Toklat woolback with inserts from
Sportack. It is pricey but have no problems with it, nor do my 2 friends who
have them as well.

We have been using a new saddle the past 5 weeks. Tucker endurance.
It appears to fit well, however, after riding I notice two spots that
are more wet then the rest of my Mares back.

A couple days later when we were grooming for our next ride I
noticed some dry skin come off as I groomed her in those two spots.

Is this a sign of the saddle not fitting or is it something like you all
were
discussing earlier about the horse being out of shape and young, with a
young rider
schooling her? That's us!

We've been out of the saddle for 3 years and just got back in the saddle a
couple
months ago recently increasing our rides to 3 to 4 times per week as of
end
of August.

I'm hoping we can fix it. We like the Tucker endurance saddle. I'm
thinking
we need
a new pad but do not know where to start. Going to be doing as much trail
riding as possible so any suggestions would be great before we buy.

We are using a Millers Cool Back now. Don't really have sweating problems
even
after a good 5 hours in warm weather. Just the norm. However, I don't
think
the pad
fits the saddle enough in the rear, at bit short. The pad is for a an All
Purpose English
Saddle. My Arab's short back is an issue with pads, none of the square
stuff
will go at all!

Thanks,

Denise
