Re: [RC] Liqui Lyte - TypeF \(Jackie Floyd\)

I've been using Ascend Liquid Performance Electrolytes by Farnam that are in
a .8 fl. oz foil pack on rides. I either put it in my crew bag or carry it
on my saddle and use and old syringe to squeeze it into. That is, if Tank
doesn't eat it on his food, which he has no problem with. It's a very small
amount but it's "supposed" to be a whole day's worth, if you were giving it
to them on a daily basis. Tank will usually eat whatever electrolyte powder
I happen to throw in his beet pulp at lunch. But on the occasion that he
doesn't, he gets the Ascend. But then, I'm not into giving him electrolytes
every two hours. He just gets it at lunch. But then, we ride pretty slow. It
costs 99c a packet singlely, but you can get it in a box of 30 at
ValleyVet.com for .73c each. You might be able to get it cheaper somewhere
else. I really haven't taken the time to see how it compares to all the
others. But for me it's a convenient thing to carry around.

:) Jackie

Subject: [RC] Liqui Lyte

Anybody use Liqui Lyte electrolytes? I have used the paste with some
success, but am looking for a cheaper alternative. Since LyteNow seems
to work for my horse, I was thinking that the liquid might also work,
but it's a huge price difference. Around $2.75 for a 20 cc dose of the
paste vs about 35 cents for 1 oz of the liquid.

I have ordered some Perform N Win, but that's pricey, too. $1 for 4 oz
and that's a lot of volume to get down a horse.

Thanks,
April

PS. Thanks to those that answered my probiotics question. The
probiotics seemed to work great for him this weekend. Still gotta get
the electrolytes worked out.
