[RC] Why there will never be another hurricane to hit South Florida.... - Patti Pankiewicz-Fuchs

Because (like Dave Barry, the humor writer, wrote on his blog) I bought a generator. Indian River County, FL got slammed pretty hard by Frances but luckily my little old metal-roofed cracker house is still in one piece. Lots of flooding and now SWARMS of mosquitos like I've never seen before, and part of a missing barn roof is all the damage we suffered. Seeing what happened to some poor horses during Charley inspired us to take the whole crew to the Tampa fairgrounds, where though we still had a lot of wind and rain we all fared just fine.

Still no power here, going on Day 11...but I'm a happy camper with my generator...now if I can only figure out how to get a window unit a/c  and/or a heater to work in a tent come ride season. Any suggestions?

Also, just in case there are any newbies or transplants on ridecamp that live in the Indian River County/Brevard County FL area that want a conditioning buddy I am *still* in desperate need of one.
