======================================== Hi, I am new to endurance
riding( But I have been riding Race horses for 15 years). My question is
about endurance saddles, what is the best ,what is the worst? I have
heard good things about the Torsion and Wintec as well as the Bob
Marshell. Can anyone tell about any of these saddles for the good or the
bad. Any suggustions would be Great! Thank you!

At the risk of sounding facetious, the BEST endurance saddle is any saddle
that fits both your horse and you well and gives you the freedom to adjust
to the terrain. The worst endurance saddle is any saddle that does not.

For every make and model of saddle out there, there is a horse and rider
that it fits well, and a horse and rider that it does not.

I'm very happy with my Wintec Pro Endurance. My husband and I both ride
one, and they fit us well, and most of our horses well. They don't fit
every horse, for sure, and I've heard a lot of smaller riders complain
about them--has to do with the fact that they don't come in a smaller seat
size, so one apparently either needs a big body (me) or long feet (hubby)
to fit them well.

Many folks ride all-purpose English saddles or dressage saddles of all
makes and models, and are happy with them.

Many more folks are happier with endurance saddles with more western-style
seats--which also come in all makes and models which do or do not fit
different horses.

Since you have ridden race horses, I'd wonder if you might be the most
comfortable starting off with English-style seats (for you)--and from
there, experiment with what best fits your horse.

Heidi
