In my opinion a good horse is a good horse regardless of the breeding.
If you are looking at a horse with great confirmation, a good brain, and
a willing attitude you're half way there.

Those traits COME from good breeding...

That said--yes, there are some good NSH and ASBs in the sport.  They are
the ones with good conformation, good metabolics, and brains--ie the ones
that throw back to good old breeding when both breeds were bred for those
traits...  :-)
