[RC] Speed of Gaited Horses/Mules - Sharlene Roberts-Caudle

It took me some time to discover that my arab gelding
(Polish, track-retired)has a lateral gait, a saddle
pace or rack or something. I have a difficult time
trying to figure out how to ride it, smoother than a
trot, but so fast that it's hard to sit.

He trots nicely from 6 mph up to 8mph then goes into
this lateral gait where he gets up over 10 mph, at
that speed he wants to move into a canter and will do
so nicely.

Odd?

Sharlene
