RE: [RC] Coon Footed - heidi

What is "coon footed"?

"Coon-footed" horses are ones with "sloppy" pastern angles and with a
longish toe and lowish heel to match. (Think of how a raccoon walks clear
down on the heels of its "hands.")

This is not a very efficient sort of conformation, and one that is prone
to putting more strain on the supportive soft tissue structures of the
leg--but again, as long as the horse is sound, it is irrelevant to its
passing a ride vet check.
