[RC] Rider Cards - Kristen A Fisher

1.)First as Truman (at least I think it was Truman, sorry if it wasn't)
stated, rider cards are ride managements tool to communicate information
to the veterinary staff and the timers throughout the ride and do "belong"
to ride management. In fact, I believe the AERC BOD is considering having
ride managers forward all rider cards to the AERC office with ride results
in the future.

I just read this in July 04 EN on top right of page 11 - it asks for member
input on the motion.. The current motion states that all rider cards of
horses pulled, treated or withdrawn be sent to the AERC for tabulation.

I sent my feedback, which included 1) great idea for a NGB to tabulate the
data, 2) I ALSO want the data to track my progress, problems, etc, and 3) I
want the *original* as often it has the blood sweat and tears of the ride on
it [and that's all you will have to show you even tried if you pull/are
pulled!]

I think the RM should send the original to AERC, they can make a
standardized copy of it [easier for them to file than some of the tattered
cards] and send original back to the rider. If they are not AERC members,
thus AERC does not have their contact info, I don't feel strongly that AERC
should send their cards back.
