[RC] identification - Bette Lamore

I have a question for the vets: I adopted a mare who was going to the killers-- she is lovely-- and I was going to find a good home for her. My stallion Riverdance figured out a way to breed through a 5 rail pipe corral (perhaps he drops further than I ever imagines ;-) ) sooo, my question is this: if I supply the Registry with the sire's name and they already have him DNA'd, and a sample of the foal's hair for DNA testing, would they be able to identify the mare if she is a purebred? I know with blood typing it is more of a ruling out process than ID'ing-- is it much different with the DNA process the Registry is using? IF they could ID the mare, at least then there would be a chance for eventual registration.
thanks for any illumination.
Bette
