While freeze branding is probably not as painful as hot branding, it
ain't painless either.  Just try putting some liquid nitrogen on your
own skin and you will find out just how painless it isn't.

Actually, it probably hurts more at the moment you do it; however, the
pain does not persist as much as a hot brand does; and it "heals" faster
too..
