Re: [RC] What Saddle to use in Mtns Question - Jody Rogers-Buttram

Where are all the OrthoFlex supportors?  Am I the only one?  I may be the minority here, but here goes.  I LOVE ORTHOFLEX!!!!   There I said it.  I have had one for over 16 years that has been on every shape horse out there.  Never a sore back.  I just bought a new one for me, (daughter took the old one)  I can't say enough good stuff about it.  I never worry about a sore anything, doing 100's, multi-days, whatever.  The new one has the really nice cushy seat, (no happy seat needed) and rides like a Cadillac.  And the new owners of the company  are easy to work with and have some new designs to the flex panels.

Jody and the girls and their happy backs!

I only own 1 horse(not used for endurance)& 1 saddle. However, I frequently ride other peoples endurance horses to help get them fit. I hate switching to different saddles, so I needed a saddle that fit me and any horse that I might be riding on any given day (without the hassle of adjusting it.) After a lot of research, I chose the Bob Marshall endurance saddle which I absolutely. I ordered it youth cut (to allow for more leg swing) and with extra long billets (to prevent my legs rubbing.) It is "cushy" comfortable, secure, puts me in the correct riding position & fits just about any horse I can crawl up on. I use it with the Skito pad and it has yet to produce a sore back. I do ride in the hills & mountains with it and find a breast collar a must have. Hope this helps, Lisa B.
