[RC] WNV in N California - k s swigart

Last
call to Linda was late this a.m. and she said the horse was still
uncomfortable and still had diarrhea. Any one ever have these
problems
after the WN vaccine and/or booster?

I haven't had these problems after the WN vaccine (admittedly, I don't
have THAT much experience with the vaccine, but I have had the
opportunity to see its effect on !50 horses getting the initial series
and annual boosters for the past two years).

However, I have seen this in horses that have been moved and/or
subjected to feed changes, especially in hot and/or variable weather,
which we have been seeing down here in So. Cal (don't know about N Cal).

The vaccine wouldn't be the first place I would look for an explanation
of colic in a horse that is just settling in to a new home.
