[RC] Sponsorship pro's and con's - Maryanne Stroud Gabbani

First, all the official rides here are FEI rides and, as such, suffer sponsorship from the UAE. So other than sort of neighbourhood rambles, we have no truly amateur (as in the sense of done strictly for the love of it) endurance in Egypt.

But starting out with "sponsorship" of endurance from Day One, it's noticeable that there is a very, very fine line between "The Dangerous Dahshur Dash - sponsored by Twinkies" and "Twinkies' Dangerous Dahshur Dash". As long as everyone knows and acknowledges the difference between "sponsored by" and "owned by" then you should be ok. The hard part is that the line gets smudged sometimes and the sport in there is lost.
