[RC] More Tevis Stats - DreamWeaver

Looks like 248 started. If so the completion % is 52%. I did a more sorts in the spreadsheet and came up with the following. All of which could be off here and there, so I'm not saying it's 100% accurate but fairly close.

44 Riders that had not previously done a 100 before DNF
26 Riders that had not previously done a 100 before did finish

63 Horses that had not previously done a 100 before DNF
49 Horses that had not previously done a 100 before did finish
Total: 112 horses entered with no previous 100 mile experience

57 Horses that had previously done a 100 DNF
79 Horses that had previously done a 100 did finish
Total: 136 horses entered with previous 100 mile experience

24 riders with under 350 miles DNF
14 riders with under 350 miles did finish

40 horses with under 350 miles DNF
25 horses under 350 miles did finish

Combined horse and rider miles

Under 1000: 33 did not finish, 26 did
1000 to 2000: 25 DNF, 21 did
2000 to 5000: 34 DNF, 45 did
over 5000: 29 DNF, 32 did
3 riders not counted. Looks like rider/horse mileage totals over 2000 have better odds.

Of the horses over 4000 miles, 3 finished, 3 did not. The four highest mileage horses to complete the ride were:

Horse Miles Rider
Robin Hood 4325 Vicki A Giles
Do So La 4550 Howard Kent
KJ Mozart 4885 Carolyn Meier (Jr.)

The three highest mileage riders to complete were:

16155 Marilyn McCoy
20155 Connie L. Creech
24230 Robert Ribley

I thought I'd look to see if Californians have any advantage over doing a ride that is close to them. Nope: 50% completion rate, slightly lower than the average. Nevadans fared better with 64%. Oregon was 50%, Texas 25%, Pennsylvania 50%, Utah 50%, Washington 50%, Florida 50%, Vermont 33%, Arizona 67% Colorado 43%, all of the foreign riders - 100% (doesn't that just annoy you guys?) I left off states with one entry, or those with no finishers. I think all of the foreign riders rode horses with more miles than they have (at least in AERC), which just goes to show you how important the horse part of the equation is.

If none of this makes sense to you, don't worry none of it makes sense to me either. :^D
