[RC] Leasing Horses at Tevis - sindy mccosker

What is the going rate that someone would pay to lease a horse for the Tevis?
 
Who's responsiblity is it to make sure the horse is cared for during and after the ride?  (feed, water, bedding for the stall)
 
Would that all be spelled out in a contract?
 
Does anyone know how many horses were leased for this Tevis?
