==========================================

In our area (North Central Washington) many of us make a top dressing for grain
of 1 gallon of apple cider vinegar with fresh minced garlic. Put about an inch
of garlic in the bottom of the cider vinegar jug. Then every day the horses
get about 1/2 to 1 cup of this mixture on their grain or in their rice bran
mash. My horses LOVE it. It definitely works to keep off ticks and helps to
keep those blood sucking gnats off. The best thing we have found for flies is
the fly traps with the bait that you fill with water and keep hung around the
paddocks. I would not want to put anything in my horses water that might
discourage them from drinking, especially when it is this hot!
