RE: [RC] [RC] re: trailer ties & hay bags - terry banister

The same idea worked for covering the butt chain on my old Logan straight-load (does anyone even use those anymore?) Anyway, those long foam noodles for swimming pools with a hole down the center worked great by cutting a section that's the length of the chain, slicing it down the side and putting it over the chain, and duct taping the slice closed.

One of the things the "old timers" used when picketing that would also
work here to prevent rope burn if a leg gets over the rope...take a piece
of rubber water hose, slit it, put over the lower part of the rope
(closest to the horse), then duct tape the two ends. Just a thought.
Also, I love the way Karen has her hay bags set up. I use the same bags,
but I do have one mare who paws at them and I have to keep them high
enough for her not to get her foot caught in them (which she did in the
trailer and it was ugly!). Just some thoughts. Cindy
