[RC] was Garmin Forerunner 201/timexgps and a ride:>) - Crisco41

i bought an ironman timex Gps system...oh what fun. I found out a few things,,that it SEEMs you have gone further then you have,,that my mare can rack at 11 MPH and that it is well worth the money. My system tracked us just fine ,.,,and there were trees and alot of hills..i half expected it not to work. Lord knows my cell phone  wont  work out there:>)
anyway..it really is a cool gadget.I am very gadget illiterate..and it really isnt all that difficult to work. I would recommend the timex system. The down fall is that it is a  battery EATER according to the reviews. And locking on to a sattelite can be a problem..altho i have not had that problem yet.  And mine has many more functions then i really need. But I only paid 135 for  it including shipping..(on Ebay) I have ridden the past 2 days..after a period of not riding much at all...and WOW, I have missed it! We did some deep creek riding..and ebony lost her footing, and went face first in to the water,,Pretty cold to take a plunge. As i hung up over her neck all i could think of its awful cold to take a plunge..and I am about to..and  oh my..with me up holding her in the water like that my beloved mare is gonna  drown. Thank goodness she got her feet again before i had to go in.She came up shaking her head and pinning her ear. The next 40 minutes were spent with her trying to dislodge the water in her ear. I just loved EVERY minute of it. And cannot wait to get out there again. anyway happy trails!  lori and ebony sparkling premiere....who may never make an endurance horse..but  dang  she could be a submarine:>)
