Thank you Nicole--- now I have the correct terminology instead of
Central CA slang and I do appreciate the lesson :-)  AND I still would
like an answer to my question as to whether or not I would have to
supplement to get the needed calcium for my foals and lactating mares
given that they are being fed my particular mix of forage (oat, wheat
and beardless barley--- very rich in grain)? Anyone?


Uh, thought I answered that one, albeit indirectly...  A wedge of alfalfa
should give you plenty.
