[RC] ez ride stirrups and tailgaiting - Agilbxr

I just got my new ez ride stirrups about a week ago. I've been riding in the
stirrups that came with my abetta, which I hated. I finally broke down and
spent the money on the ez rides. I love them! Better yet, my abused knees love
them. I took them out for their first ride, and in the first 1/2 hour of
walking, I wasn't too impressed. Then I started corto-ing and cantering.
OHHHHH! Ok, now I'm impressed. I'm going to have to throw them on a trotting
horse and see if I can ride a trot again without my knees agonizing at me! I'm
so excited.

As to tailgaiting, who wants to come ride with me and throw a sponge at Alpine
everytime he tries to catch up??????? He doesn't mind being in the back, but
he takes offense when horses pass him (go figure). And he MUST speed up. He's
better since I bought the Mylar combo snaffle/hackamore, but will still try to
speed up if anyone passes. On another note, when others are having problems
getting their nags to do something, he's the one who guides them over the
(creek, ditch, dark spot, scary tree, etc) with their noses in his butt. He
honestly doesn't care. Last week we were helping one horse get over being barn
sour that way.

For anyone who wants to come ride with me, consider this an open invite. I'm
in Jacksonville, Florida on the edge (literally) of Jennings State Forest. I
have 23 thousand acres that we roam. Right now we aren't into fast or far,
it's too darn hot for that, but we're still riding. And as I am rather new to
endurance and wanting to try my first 50 in November, we can always use some
experienced people to bug. *grin*

Juli and Alpine (I like the new stirrups too....she doesn't bounce or yell when
my canter gets bouncy)
