[RC] last call: Letter to AHA - Ssissipriss1

Bette:  I went to the letter and was interested to see that most of the signatures included horse registration numbers instead of their AHA MEMBERSHIP numbers.  Why should AHA care about hearing from people who don't belong to their organization?  Or should I say, people who don't know an AHA number from a registration number?  Are these people even members, or are they under the mistaken impression that since the horse is registered, that means they (the owners) are automatically eligible for the benefits?  I find that if you wish to make changes, you must be educated as to what and why you want.  Perhaps these people who signed your petition would go back and enter their AHA MEMBERSHIP numbers before you send your letter in to AHA.  Best of luck, I agree with your letter, and have felt that way for years.  I run into the same attitude with Arabian horse clubs.  They offer year end awards for show people, but until they are educated, don't offer awards for Endurance/Competitive Trail riders.  Why should I pay membership fees if I'm not going to be given the same consideration as other Arabian owners?  I have signed your letter AND included MY AHA number.
