RE: [RC] [RC] Question - Bugs - Wendy Harris

Wow........where are you that its been raining so much? I loved it when
Ridecamper's were posting where they were from.
Our weather has cleared up quite a bit from all the rain we had earlier this
year. The mosquitoes were horrible at first but they aren't to bad now.

The trick with chiggers--"Don't sit down!!!!"-- My blueberry bushes are 12
feet outside my kitchen door, I tired picking them in my PJ yesterday,
8,8!!! mystquitos bites at 9:00 am--Tiger mysquitos, they bite in the day
time and I kept watching for them and smashed 4 on me. I went down in my
shorts to check the round bale while feeding the horses (7 MORE straight
days of rain (up to 40-2-3 dry ones)-and got 4 mysquito bites. I forgot ,
must wear jeans outside to do any work or OFF. Just have to decide whether
to die from Heat prostration or chemical absorbsion. Who wants to spray Off
for a 15 minute feeding?
Everything is a puddle, the worms are drowning..... I just want to ride!!!

My riding ring is mush and growing water lillies.....
I bought fertilizer yesterday, with this much rain ,I may as well . And
it might make the rain stop, usually if I buy grass seed or fertilizer it
stops raining......

I have skiter bites on my TOOCUS!

ROFL! Been there...they bite through jeans here in Texas, too...the worst
part about getting skeeter bites on one's, um, *lower* cheeks is that it's
not
considered polite to scratch them in public! But down here, the worst are
the
chiggars...little mites that are in grass and too small to be seen, but
they
bite and generate the most gawdawful itching for about a week (body's
allergic
response to their saliva). They like places where clothing is
tight...ankles,
behind knees, panty lines, bra lines, arm pits, you know, all those places
one can't scratch in public. ARGGH!

Dawn in East Texas (starting to itch just thinking about them...)
