He's eating and drinking on his own. He is weak and unsteady but getting around. He naps a lot. He can't see much and is hard of hearing. I am told his eyes will heal and he will be able to see around the scars. We discontinued the tubing/DMSO concoction. The plan now is two rounds of Banamine (10cc 2x day for a week then 10cc 1x day for a week) to see if his migraines subside. A dear friend of mine - a nurse - suggested we try Bute after we discontinue the Banamine if he's not quite over the headaches. My vet has suggested acupuncture. I'm also looking into what is called the "Transfer Factor" - an immune booster suggested by a vet corresponding with me online - a Dr. Mac Barksdale. RideCampers, to those of you that have been through an ordeal such as this, I can't even begin to thank you for your valuable input - it's been quite a mix of good and bad - but it was certainly appreciated. And to those of you that have never been through this but took the time to send your thoughts of well wishes and prayers - thank you.
