Re: [RC] Wendell Robie's Bandos and Polish pedigrees - heidi

Sorry about that goof; *Ba-Ida was by Flisak. and I also thought *Nasr
was one hell of a horse, and Wendell Robie got quite a horse out of that
cross. Jim Jones stallion, Rowel, Joe Hampton's horse, Tarbee, and one
of Kerry Ridgeway's horses, Mostar, were all grandson's of *Czubuthan
throught a horse called RAWA, bred by Traveler's Rest. Those Traveler's
Rest horses make up a very substancial percentage of todays
American-breds; they are everywhere, if one looks at pedigrees. Also,
they sure have crossed well with the CMK horses! Renie

Yep, Travelers Rest had a heckuva program. And Dickinson utilized a lot
of CMK horses as well. Not sure, but I think he was instrumental in
sending Antez (CMK--straight Davenport, and fabulous race horse in his own
right) back to Poland where he was used some as a sire--he imported the
mare *Lassa from Poland in foal to Antez, who then foaled out the Antez
son *Latif.

Most of those older Polish horses indeed crossed very well with CMK
horses--which stands to reason, since they were very similar sorts of
horses. Many of the older Polish lines are pretty much only found in
conjunction with CMK pedigrees.
