Do you prefer borium or drive-in studs for the front shoes at Tevis? Does one type or the other cause too much grip or torque?

Are you now training with borium or studs? If not, don't use them on Tevis. You know one of the cardinal rules of endurance is that you don't try something new at a ride.

Personally, I'd think that boruim or studs would be a Real Bad Idea for riding that trail. But then I think putting anything on a horses' feet that doesn't allow a bit of slide is a Real Bad Idea anyway. If it's that slippery, then I don't need to ride. If it's not slippery, then I don't need borium or studs.
