I sometimes agree that to give good advice you should have at least done 
or attempted it and learned from your mistakes.  However I also believe 
that the vets that help manage horses through these rides can provide 
valuable insight without having ridden the ride.  

As for not being on the 100 Miler RC list and giving advise...I'm on RC 
and have done several 100's and I don't appear on the list.  This might 
suggest the list isn't all inclusive.

If people would just think of the hoof as the foundation for the horse like
a house foundation.  when your horse plants his foot down in the ground and
pushes forward if the foot isn't 100% balanced your chances of injury go
up.
