[RC] re: Cherry B. Pooper Scoopers - Cindy Collins

Here in Wyoming, our majorettes, bands, and various other parade entries
are expected to have to walk in horse poop. It keeps them humble and
reminds them that most of us are watching the parade to see the horses,
not them! ha, ha
Here in Cody, WY our three day Stampede Fourth of July parades are run by
the Stampede Board members. They are all mounted on horseback for the
parade and ride up and down the streets on both sides of the entries
monitoring safety, doing crowd control and keeping everything moving. We
also run hundreds of steers through the downtown streets. They are not
potty trained. None of this biodegradable waste is cleaned up, except by
mother nature. It's a reality check for some of the tourists. We are
becoming way too civilized. I believe that Marjorie Rawlings once said
something about what we lose when we get too far removed from the land...I
think that's what this conversation is really about. Cindy
