[RC] The Young Black Stallion - Suvut

Well, I went to see it today.  I LOVED the movie, although it was definitely geared towards young kids.  The scenery, music, and shots of the horses were incredibly beautiful.  The horses were really Arabians and seemed to be lean and in good condition -- no fatties.

However, the race scene at the end was reminiscent of the "killer" rides they used to have over in Saudi Arabia.  Several horses ran at a full gallop over the desert for miles -- they never said how far the race was but it looked to be about 5-7 miles.  Of course, that's what the J. Q. Public wants to see.  Never mind about realism and how dangerous that is to the horses..... :(

Also, be prepared to pay BIG BUCKS to see it!  The IMAX theaters (where this movie is being shown) charge $8.50 PLUS another $2.00 (courtesy of Disney) to see this movie.  For a 50 minute movie, I thought this was WAAAAY too much.  (But I'm very glad I saw it...)
