Yes, it's legal unless the ride manager has made some rule against it. I can't
imagine WHY, but it probably is their prerogative to ban them. But then, if they
do, they should ban HRM too, as a good friend of mine likes to point out, the
HRM tells you A LOT more about your horse than a simple GPS unit which only
tends to tell you time, speed, and distance in some combination.
