Re: [RC] [RC] gas & diesel prices again - Karen Sullivan

I've checked into the hybrid cars. 68 mpg! Gas doesn't even burn while in
first gear. It's about time and the good news is even GM will, eventually,
start to build them. If you want to purchase one you will most likely be
put on a waiting list. Looks like some consumers have seen the light. Cars
like these should be the majority, not, a hard to find, zero advertised
product like they are now.

*Howard, we are in agreement.....pretty sad how people seem to be enthralled
by
luxury cars...with more stupid stuff to break than anyone needs...and very
little
emphasis on efficiency. I do, however, feel somewhat uncomfortable using a
big
diesel truck to haul horses around for fun stuff......there is one gal in
the county using
biodiesel....I keep trying to remember to talk to her....the same gal also
has one of the hybrid
cars too.

I'm seriously considering purchasing a buggy and teaching my horses how to
pull it.

*My daughters Arab will be forever scarred for life by my daughters attempt
to "cart
break her." This is a pretty laid back Arab too.....three years later and
she is still looking
for that cart lurking around that property.

*However, you would appreciate our 3 mile riding jaunts into main street of
our town to tie up horses
as the local watering hole and have a few drinks. The ride home is "always"
more relaxing than
the ride there; wonder why?!? They haven't followed through yet on our
requests for a hitching post,
but there are a lot of trees next door to tie to.

*Second to last time my husband rode (probably 1991), we went out with some
folks in some rural area bordering
a ritzy development. My husband was very pleased when the local country
club bar was open and he could have
a few beers....made the experience of the horse dumping him in the creek
along the way worthwhile.

*When my daughter was in Kindergarden; I occasionally would hitch the Welsh
pony up to the cart and drive in
to town to pick her up (4 miles). It was really fun picking her up in the
car line. We also used to drive the pony
into town for pizza.

Karen

cya,
Howard (who can't believe we're still driving vehicles that burn fossil
fuels after all these years; there has to be a better answer to all of this)

*And it's still a crying shame we are building houses that are so energy
ineffiecient also...People seem to want huge houses and luxury cars.
