I hate to jump in here as it is not endurance related and that is why I am
on this list
Well, we had a Mountain Lion in an endurance camp once. Does that count? Plus, there was a hunter who lost a mare after wolves ran through their hunting camp. The horses totally freaked, most were tied and she died from injuries sustained from fighting to get away from them. It's not clear to me why the wolves ran into the hunting camp. Most endurance rides are held in the back country in the Mountain Region and there are lots of wild critters here, some which can be dangerous to horses, riders or both if not dealt with correctly. I think this thread is pretty relevant.
