[RC] Soy as a source of protein? - Jerry & Susan Milam

Ridecamp Nutrition Gurus:

I switched my horses over to a higher fat ration this winter using beetpulp
as my base for it all and added Black oil sunflower seeds, and Flax but
still had a bit of the sweet feed in it or a peletized grain feed for the
protein content. I've read somewhere they have found soy to be agood protein
source for horse and it also has a calming effect besides.

Anyone out there care to comment on the Soy thing and can we get into
quantities here or ratio/percentages and such to ensure a balanced diet? Of
course, I add the cosequin and the multi viatamin and extra vit E to it all.

TIA,
In His Hands,
Susan, Fly Bye & Dandy

I still prefer what it is that BH100, Tevis, The Duck's Soup of Endurance,
etc. has to offer...but, to see a horse canter over sand for those
distances...Good Lord, it humbles me.
