Cresote is very toxic.If you run one electric wire on a standoff on the top board,they will leave it alone. Doesn't cost much.I use one strand to keep mine off the hogwire fence.Has worked for 5 years.You can get a solar charger for around a 100.$ that works fine.Or even a pulg in one at the hardware store if you have power for about 35.$Even though it says to mount indoors, we put it outside and it is covered with a bucket, then we run a cord to it.

My horses have decided to really chew our fences
and posts the last while.    I was told that cresote
would stop them from chewing........any opinions??
