[RC] Saddles for Draft Horses - Doris Kendig

My significant other rides draft horses, Percherons. One is old style-real big and bulky aka bubble butt. The other is newer style breeding-tall and lanky. He has purchased two saddles from Australian Stock Saddle Company. They are crosses between Aussie saddles and Western saddles or English saddles. The one is a Classic Darwin and the other the Squire Poley. We take measurements and the guy makes the saddles to fit. We have had no problems with the fit of these saddles and he custom makes the girths (REAL BIG). Ori takes a 40" western girth!!! I've also ridden both these guys in my Ortho-Flex Endurance Cutback with no problems. The treeless saddles would most likely work great-IF and I say IF you can take the spread in your hips. Their web site is: http://www.aussiesaddle.com. The saddles are very reasonably priced and the quality is great-nice leather work. My boyfriend participates in a lot of draft horse sites and there are others that compete the BIG guys in the sport. The heat seems to be the only drawback. In cool weather, these guys will go forever. If you want any more info, email me at doris.kendig@xxxxxxxx
