Hi all...I ogt the bloodwork back from my mare who itched herself raw last
Mar-Nov. The bloodwork showed 28 positives and 6 borderline allergies. In
addition to the trees and molds she is allergic to (not much I can do about that)
she is allergic to:

alfalfa
corn
oats
oat pollen
cottonseed
bluegrass hay
molasses
soybean
collides
black flies
mosquitos
pine shavings
cotton
wool

Obviously this messes up her feeding program, as I feed oat hay, Bermuda, and
alfalfa/bermuda pellets. I also feed complete advantage (which has molasses
in it.) And Empower which I believe has cottonseed in it.

She also wears a wool saddle pad. What the heck am I going to do??? Her wool
pad is a numnah...what are other fabric options?

Any complete feeds out there with no alfalfa, molasses, cottonseed, corn or
oats in it?? What's left? She starts shots as soon as the serum is ready.

Anyone else have horse this allergic. She is miserable a good portion of the
year.

Now I have 2 horses getting shots.

Mel...just about ready to hang it up...again.

We are talking about all the tools we can use to keep our horses safe and
alive at the rides. Training/conditioning is one of the best tools
available. It makes us better horseman and women, it benefits our horses
and could quite possibly be the key to preventing most crashes.
