[RC] Selenium and Vitamin E - Lynn Brunetto

 Subject: Selenium and Vitamin E

Someone on Ridecamp had suggested using the Vitamin E capsuls along with a
food grade selenium product that you can buy at your feedstore.
I was just wondering how much selenium you would feed your horse per day.
I am getting tired of spending well over $16.00 for a 5lb pail of Vit E
and Selenium supplement! I had heard that the vitamin E loses it potency
after it sits around and is exposed to air, light etc. I was able to find
Vit E 1000 IU capsuls at Sams club (200 caps) for $9.00 and can purchase
the selenium for $7.00 for 40lbs at my feed store! Seems to me a much
more efficient and cost effective way of feeding.
Can someone help me with the oz's of selenium to feed?
