Have to let you know you may have to modify your dream a bit.

The Appalachian trail is only for hiders.  Horses are banned.
Bit of a bummer as I live close to it.
So you either need to hike it or choose other trails to ride in
the East.

We do have lots of good horse trails although probably not
continuous from state to state.

For starters, plan on doing some of the top 100s back East
such as Old Dominion, Vermont, Biltmore, Far Out Forest, ....

hi all,
one of my dreams for the future (besides tevis in 2006) is to ride the
whole
Appalachian trail from Maine to Georgia, ride the north south trail
straight
through the whole state of Rhode Island (OK its only 75 miles)
and to eventually, ride across every state.
do any of you in the east have any stories about the Appalachian trail, or
a
web site that could help fuel my desires?
any body wanna go with me?:-)
