Re: [RC] vet checks - Michael Maul

Comments in **** below

Question for Mike Maul...

Would it be possible to add a "Vet Check" field on the Ride Calendar
that would state how many vet checks in the ride, and how many are
away?

*** Yes - it's possible. The question is - would it mean anything? Many rides
are now sanctioning about a year ahead of time and those that are going to
duplicate
the same trail could send that info. Others - the trail is new or needs
rerouting
or just changes so that riders don't do the same thing every year.

But there are a number that do the same every year. The online sanctioning
form has
a spot for number of checks and distance between. Only 1/3 of
the RM fill them in - and on the paper forms - even less.

Russ and I have been thinking of an editor that would allow a RM to go online
and add info
like this. or a volunteer to get the info from the RM and add it. It would
have to
be done this way because having the RM contact the office to get it done
would be difficult.

An editor is on the list but right now there are other things higher. One is
providing
RM with a paper list of paid up members for their region to take to the ride so
that
riders who show up can be checked for day memberships...

Would help immensely in planning. Just something simple. Request
that info on the sanction form?

*** The request is already on the sanction form. Few use it though... ***

For example:

Vet Checks - 3 Vet Checks, two away, one in Camp.

or:

Vet Checks - All in Camp.
