Re: [RC] post-ride leg care - product questions - Jim Simpson

I have found a product for cooling legs called "Extenda Cool". They are the
greatest thing since peanut butter. They are a disposable thin gel sheet
(about the size of a 12x12 square of felt). They are disposable and come 2
to a pack. They don't have to be frozen prior to use (although you can) and
apply a nice even cold to the leg. I've had them stay cold up to 6 hours
just out of the pack. (longer if I throw them in the freezer first.). They
kind of just stick to the leg and aren't bulky so I can use sports medicine
boots, track wraps, or what ever over the top. They are very economical to
use and can be just tossed on to the trailer and forgotten about until use.
I am forever finding my ice sheets melted by the time I want to use them,
cooling unevenly or just plain forgetting to grab them out of my house
freezer before I leave.

The web site is www.extendacool.com

Subject: [RC] post-ride leg care - product questions

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had experience with the
Ice-O-Gel products or Cool Cast? Also is it necessary
to wrap plastic wrap around a poultice?
Would applying liniment to the legs cause a problem if
shipping boots are applied afterwards? Some products
(I think absorbine and blue lotion) recommend not
wrapping because of the build up of heat the product
makes and maybe blistering of skin?? I'm not sure
about this, so if anyone knows please let me know.
Lysane
